Product Detail 3: Product performance of Ariat Cowgirl Boots.
2018-03-24
Objective:
2016-11-16 I purchased a pair of Ariat Cowgirl boots (Style Code 10010911) leather uppers, balance manmade, made in China. This boot was purchased from Allen Boot Center in Austin, Tx. The cost was $108.24 including state tax. The boot had light use for slightly over a year, until December 2017, I noticed the boot right heel had worn through. Closer inspection revealed the heel was hollow. This is unexpected as my expectation that the boot would be made from durable rubber and be thick enough for boot to last several years.
I wanted to know why Ariat felt the sole material could be of such flimsy construction, especially since the price was significant and the leather uppers appeared to be quality. I followed up with Ariat International, I called Ariat on March 5th, 2018. Melvin Wilson from Ariat's Customer Care Team assured that he would look into this and forwarded an email with information request. I responded with all information on March 9th. On March 14th, Ariat notifed that they considered this to be normal wear and tear. They did not provide any repair instructions, I suppose they expect the boot to be thrown away and a new model purchased. I likely will consider other brands next boot purchase.
Below is their email response.
