Project 27: Custom Tripod Quick Release Plate.

Objective:

To create a custom tripod quick release plate mount.

Tools:

Jigsaw
Drill with various bits
Orbital sander with 60 grit discs

Procedure:

1. For a quick release plate, find a piece of scrap wood cut a block of wood to fit. The wood thickness should be sufficient to prevent camera from touching tripod mount.

2. Using orbital sander, sand taper edges to fit tripod quick release mount. A 50deg from horizontal seem to work for the Gold Coast GT400

3. Using a 17/64 drill bit dill a hole throught the middle.

4. Find a 1/4 20 UNC bolt with the right length. Grind a groove to tighten with a screwdriver.

5. To mount a camera, find another piece of scrap wood and cut an L shape 3.5" long X 2" wide and 0.5" thick.

6. Drill two 17/64 in. holes for mounting.

7. Find the 1/4-20 UNC hardware to mount.
