Objective:

To demonstrate the funtioning of software defined radio.

Specifications:

Bandwidth: Up to 2.4 MHz stable.

ADC: RTL2832U 8-bits.

Frequency Range: 500 kHz - 1766 MHz (500 kHz – 24 MHz in direct sampling mode).

Typical Input Impedance: 50 Ohms.

Typical Current Draw: 270 – 280 mA.

Materials:

1. Dell Inspiron Laptop

2. RTL-SDR Blog R820T2 RTL2832U

3. Device to generate desired RF signal

4. Antenna to receive signal with SMA connector.

Testing Procedure:

• Set-up laptop with linux software and cubicsdr.
• Set-up hardware antenna-doogle-laptop.
• Open software and add the SDR device. Then navigate to the desired RF range.
• Use device to generate RF signal.
• You should see the desired signal on the RF map.

SDR is useful for several tasks such as radio monitoring,
