Operation :
2021-03-14: The garbage disposal unit failed after seizing up. Using the hex socket at the base of the unit and allen wrench to loosen jam did not work. After applying too much torque the tailpipe failed at the flange.
2021-03-14: Garbage disposal failed, blades siezed. The pipe fracture when I tried to break. After I took to workbench to break, the unit broke free but the unit still did not work.
1-1/2 in. x 12 in. White Plastic Flanged Strainer Sink Drain Tailpiece Extension Tube, 11 3/8 in. long failed
2021-03-15: Purchased the same model for $109, the same price as about 2 years ago just over the 2 year warranty. The replacement tailpipe was $2.38. Replacement was a simple swap but I forgot to break the dishwasher drain plug. Of note the warranty of the new 2021 unit is 3 years, that is appreciated.
Conclusion:
From inspection of product information the units appear similar. The new unit fit into all existing plumbing hardware making this replacement easy. Note your dishwasher drain as in my set-up it is plumbed into the unit. This requires configuration of the device by breaking out the plastic plug.
