The earlier models had model number 650 and were 154CM stainless steel. 154CM SS has composition of 1.05% carbon, 14.00% Chromium, 0.50% Manganese and 4.00% molybdenum. It has higher hardness of 58-61 HRC compared to 55-57 HRC. Due to improved alloy 154CM is tougher and has better edge retention compared to 420HC.
