Objective:

Toyota Corolla purchased in Texas in 2016.

A 2016 Toyota Corolla was a quality economy car. The sale price including GST and extended warranty was $21,584 USD.

  • 1.8L 4-cyl DOHC 16-Valve Dual VVT-i. 4.3 L Oil Capacity 0W-20. Oil Filter Mobil 1 M1-103A or Fram PH4967.
  • Engine Air Filter EPAuto GP190 (CA10190) Replacement for Toyota/Scion Rigid Panel Engine Air Filter for Corolla 1.8L (2009-2019).
  • Cabin Air Filter EPAuto CP285 (CF10285) Premium Cabin Air Filter includes Activated Carbon.
  • One 26" and one 16" windshield wiper. Replace every 4 years
  • To reset maintenance light, go to Trip A and turn off, press trip and turn on.


  • Operation:

    ***Next Change Enginer Air 80 k miles, and Cabin filters at 80 K miles. Next Change Oil at 10 months or 70K miles

    ***The first battery was replaced in 2018 by Nissan after 2 years. Replace batteries every 5 years.

    Date 2021-07-18: Oil and Filter Change. Milage 44,945

    Date 2022-06-12: Oil and Filter Change. Milage 48,418

    Date 2023-04-22: Oil and Filter Change. Milage 55,700

    Date 2023-04-23: Tested the battery, and it appears marginal. Decided to keep and watch for further degradation.

    Date 2023-04-24: There was a small leak, it turned out to be the oil pan bolt. I sealed it with an o-ring. It appears to be working as of Saturday the 29th. I also purchased Fram PH4967 Oil Filters as the Mobil 1 103A became harder to find and much more expensive (around $20).

    Date 2023-05-29: Cabin and Enginer Air Filter Change. Milage 58,000

    Date 2023-08-26: Battery completely failed. It was replaced with a Interstate fit 35, with 36 month waranty.

    Date 2024-01-06: Windshield wipers 61,386.

    Date 2024-02-03: Oil and Filter Change. Milage 62,122

    Date 2024-02-04: Changed two tires to Nitto Road Hugger $135 each. The driver tire had significant edge wear, monitor this.

    Date 2024-10-26: Oil and Filter Change. Milage 69,250

    26 inch driver, and 16 in. pass. Windshield Wipers: Change every 4 years
