Objective:

This project will analyze the cost of hand made dishwasher soap and compare it to the commercial cost.

Non-Consumable Materials:

1.Immersion Hand Blender. Cost $40.00 US.

Consumable Materials:

1. 220 g of Arm and Hammer Washing Soda. Approximate $3 per kg.

2. 45 ml of Pure Castile Soap Liquid.

3. 700 ml of tap water.

Mayonnaise:

Making the liquid soap is simple. Add all ingredients and blend until smooth.

• Time 5 minutes
• Volume 900 ml.
• Cost per litre $1.43.
• Labour cost $1.63
• Total cost of soap with labour included $1.43 per litre
• Total cost of soap without labour cost $3.10

Handmade Soap	Commercial Soap
$3.10	$2.83

Conclusion

The cost per litre of commerical soap is $3.00, therefore homemade soap is significantly cheaper if you don't include labor but similar if you do.
